A line-plate corona discharge model is setup. Two corona wires with different resistivity are used in the model respectively. The pulse amplitudes are measured along the wire and the corona discharge images are taken with a high sensitive image record system. The nanosecond pulse corona discharge attenuation data from these corona wires are compared and discussed. The results show that the nanosecond pulse and the corona image along the wire with high resistivity are attenuated more sharply than that with lower resistivity. The attenuation difference is up to 15%. Therefore, the attenuation shouldn't be ignored in the pulse corona discharge application.
