Research Development of Iridium-Catalyzed Methyl Alcohol Carbonylation Preparation Aceticacid

Acetic acid is an important bulk commodity chemical. Iridium-complex catalyst is an important catalyst developed recently for manufacture of acetic acid by the carbonylation of methanol method. This paper introduced its commercialization, influence factors, catalytic mechanism, shortcomings, and potential alternative approaches to avoid these problems. Long-term research goal for acetic acid synthesis was also given.
