摘要
Liposome-based nanocarriers (LBNs) are incredible delivery systems to encapsulate different types of active molecules. LBNs in terms of liposome, ethosome, proposome, etc., mostly in a size range of 150 nm, have been applied successfully in the skin disorders like wounds. The highly efficient penetration and retention in tissue layers, responsive release to infection, cell targeting, as well as therapeutic nature of phospholipids are important aspects of LBNs used in wound targeting. The pharmacological properties of LBNs’ phospholipids have revealed that they can produce synergy with their cargos in the wound healing process. In experimental studies, alone LBNs (without therapeutic agent) have exhibited considerably helpful effects on tissue repair, pain relief, and inflammation reduction in wound injuries like burns. It proposes that LBNs not only are efficient tools in drug delivery but also can accelerate wound healing through their biological activities. The experimental and clinical evidence advises utilizing the LBNs as promising medication in serious injuries like diabetic wounds.
