Nonlinear optical responses in noncentrosymmetric quantum materials

A review is given on the recent developments in the studies of nonlinear optical responses in quantum materials. Especially the broken inversion symmetry, and consequent second order processes in the electric field of light are focused. The geometric nature of the electronic states in solids plays crucial roles, and photo-current has distinct nature from the conventional transport current accordingly.
