Switched reluctance motor(SRM) drives is an advanced mechanical electronic devices,and it has been widely used in industrial applications because of its simple structure,low cost,strong body,high reliability and wide speed range.The article presented analysis of characteristics,working principle and traditional detecting rotor position means of the switched reluctance motor according to the characteristics of switched reluctance motor control.It also discussed the overview of kinds of detecting rotor position for SRM overview based on the relevant literature home and abroad about detecting position technique of switched reluctance motor.At the same time it described the advantages and disadvantages of various detecting rotor position technique of switched reluctance motors.
