ABSTRACT In the course of some experiments on the nature of skin transplantation immunity, it became necessary to find out for how long (if at all) mammalian skin epithelium can survive in the total absence of atmospheric oxygen. The results of the investigation are summarized here in the hope that they may be useful to other students of tissue behaviour.
