A study about comparing two methods of fingerprint minutiae extraction

In order to extract fingerprint minutiae effectively and accurately,two methods of fingerprint minutiae extraction were compared.One of the two methods is ecumenical method,after getting the thinned image,the fingerprint minutiae is extracted.The other one will be done,after tracing the ridges to eliminate the pseudo minutiae and holding on the original minutiae of the fingerprint.Experimental results show that there is much pseudo minutiae with the former method.The number of key minutiae is less,and most of the minutiae is original minutiae of the fingerprint with the latter method,and it is helpful to fingerprint matching phase.
