The rate curves and isotherms for the adsorption of Y(Ⅲ) ion and its hydroxo complexes from aqueous solutions on active carbon have been measured. The effects of concentration, temperature, solution pH values, ligands, surfactants on adsorption were studied. The results show: (1)The isotherm in common use is obeyed, and the calculations show △G0,△H0(-41.4kJ/mol),△S0 in the adsorption process; the optimum pH values of adsorption are 4.8 5.5;(2)The adsorption model of SCN -,P 2O 4- 7,OX complexes with Y 3+ fits Leckie's model Ⅰ,and EDTA Y(Ⅲ) complex fits Leckie's model Ⅲ;(3)The effcts of surfactants are in relation with solution pH,surfactant concentration and type of surfactant;anionic surfactant SDS increases the adsorption of Y(Ⅲ),cationic surfactant CTABr decreases the adsorption.
