Empirical Analysis on the Regional Difference of the Competitiveness of Chinese Automotive Industry

With the rapid development and great success of automotive industry,many regions regard automotive industry as main stay industry.In order to make comprehensive appraise on the competitiveness of automotive industry,the paper constructs the evaluation index system of competitiveness of automotive industry from four facets:industrial scale,efficiency,technology capability and growth capability. Based on evaluation index system,we analyze the gap between the competitiveness of automotive industry of different regions by using the datum from 2001 to 2009.The analysis results show that Chinese automotive industry competition is obviously regional difference.There is a distinct polarization the regions with well developed automotive industry and there are strong growth capabilities in the regions with poor developed automotive industry.The conclusion plays an important reference to promote the development of Chinese automotive industry.
