Design of Advanced Treatment of Drinking Water by Ozone/Biological Activated Carbon Process

The total construction capacity of advanced treatment projects in two water plants amounts to 100×104 m3/d,and the ozone/biological activated carbon process is adopted. The design parameters,equipments and treatment effect of main process units are introduced. In order to avoid activated carbon loss during backwashing the filter,the shutter filter is used in the ozone/biological activated carbon process. One-year operation results show that the advanced treatment process can enhance the treated water quality effectively,and all the quality indexes meet the Standard for Drinking Water Quality (GB 5749-2006).
