Study on curing reaction kinetics and rheological behavior of polyarylacetylene resin

The curing kinetics of polyarylacetylene(PAA) was investigated to determine suitable curing process.The curing reaction kinetic parameters and the curing degree-temperature relation curve of polyarylacetylene resin was obtained by DSC and rheological behavior analysis.The initial reaction temperatue,reaction peak temperatue and final reaction temperatue were 127.1 ℃,164.2 ℃and 195.1 ℃ respectively.The curing reaction kinetic parameters were as follows:apparent activation energy 190.12 kJ/mol,reaction order 1.87,frequency factor 1.995×1019.The pressure curing temperature was from 110 ℃ to 115 ℃ and initial curing temperature was 115 ℃.The curing process was determined as:115 ℃/8 h+120 ℃/8 h+140 ℃/2 h+160 ℃/2 h+180 ℃/2 h+200 ℃/2 h+220 ℃/4 h.The curing process was dominated by different mechanism at different stages of the reaction process,with an initial chemical reaction controlling shifting into a diffusion process controlling as the reaction proceeding,thus the curing time needed to prolong when resin gelled.
