The final paper consists of a short history overview of reverse engineering, 3D printing and 3D scanning. The phases through which the reverse engineering process is performed and the advantages and disadvantages are given. Most common technologies of 3D scanning and 3D printing are explained, for each method advantages and disadvantages are given. For the aforementioned technologies, their use in present time and practical examples are given. The reverse engineering, 3D scanning and 3D printing process is presented in detail on the example of the selected construction element. Data about the model was acquired using both, a caliper and a 3D scanner. With the help of the acquired data, 3D models of the construction element were created. Physical models were created using a 3D printer and compared
