Calcium Fluoride Crystals Growth by Temperature Gradient Technique

Transparent and integrate calcium fluoride crystals, 75mm in diameter, were grown by temperature gradient technique (TGT) .The melting point 1413.5℃ of the CaF2 crystal is confirmed by means of TG-DTA. Meanwhile we tested the transmittance of the crystal from ultraviolet band to infrared band( 190nm-40000nm). It is found that the transmittance of the crystal from mid ultraviolet band to IR band can meet the demands of all kinds of applications, and the transmittance at the far ultraviolet and VUV band should be further improved.
