45‐1: Invited Paper: The Potential and Challenges of Transparent Micro LED Displays

Micro LED technology is particularly suitable for transparent displays, which offering not only high transparency but also high brightness and color gamut. We propose a 22.3‐inch three‐sided borderless structure as a tiling unit, which can be tiled in a 4x1 configuration to create a 41.6‐inch FHD display or in an 8x2 configuration for 83.1‐inch UHD resolution. This paper will discuss the major challenges for transparent displays and how to address them.
