On the calculation of piezoelectricity and pyroelectricity in polyvinylidene fluoride

Piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties of poly-vinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and related semicrystalline polymers are receiving increasing attention as these polymers find use in transducer applications. This paper considers some of the microscopic features of PVDF and calculates the electrical response of a model based on these features.
