[Chinese translation of European Respiratory Society guidelines for the diagnosis and management of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis].

Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) is a rare respiratory disease that presents significant challenges in terms of clinical diagnosis and management in China, due to insufficient awareness and lack of standardized protocols. Over the past two decades, however, advances in our understanding of PAP pathogenesis and the emergence of novel diagnostic and therapeutic technologies have created an urgent need for evidence-based guidelines. The European Respiratory Society (ERS) originally published the first global guidelines for the diagnosis and management of PAP in full text in the European Respiratory Journal. These guidelines provide graded recommendations across multiple key aspects of disease management to guide clinical practice for PAP patients. This translation was conducted to address the absence of PAP management guidelines in China and to promote standardized care for rare respiratory diseases, while carefully considering the specific needs of clinical practice in China.
