摘要
This paper presents a novel approach to microwave lowpass filter design that addresses several challenges in modern microwave systems, including size, performance, and cost. With that in mind, we propose using monic Chebyshev polynomials as the characteristic function for the filter to achieve a low passband insertion loss and maximum cutoff slope. The half-power cutoff frequency characterizes these filters, and the ripple factor is not considered a design parameter. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the monic Chebyshev approximation, a comparison is made with chained function (CF) filters designed for microwave applications. It has been shown that the monic Chebyshev filter outperforms CF filters in all applications, including microwaves.
