All women should be empowered to make informed decisions for their health care, and these data are important in understanding the risks and benefits of breast cancer screening. The implementation of screening mammography has contributed to a statistically significant reduction in breast cancer morbidity and mortality and remains one of our best tools for detecting treatable breast cancer (2, 3).
