Determination of Polysaccharide Content in Millettia speciosa Champ.

[Objective] The polysaccharide content of Millettia speciosa Champ.was determined to provide the data for anti-fatigue research.[Method] Phenol-sulfuric acid method was used to determine the content of polysaccharide in M.speciosa.[Result] The method had good linearity in the concentration of 1-9 μg/ml.The stability and precision were also good.The recovery rate was 103.4%.The total amount of polysaccharides in M.speciosa was 62.3%.[Conclusion] The polysaccharides of M.speciosa maybe one of components of anti-fatigue activity and is worth for further study.
