This article discusses the production practice for precipitating indium by using zinc ash to replace zinc powder or zinc oxide, through comparing of indium grade contained in the slags, recovery rate and the residues contained in the liquid after precipitating indium, it illustrates that the zinc ash precipitating indium has the characteristics of high grade indium content in the slags, high recovery rate and lower cost etc. meanwhile it points out the shortcomings of a little bit higher chloride ion content in the liquid after precipitating indium. Therefore,it is available for precipitating indium by using zinc ash to replace zinc powder or zinc oxide.
