Periostitis from overuse is widely seen in athletes. The most common sites are the posterior aspect of the tibiae related to the insertion of the tibialis posterior muscle(shin splints), proximal femur at the insertion of the large adductor muscles (thigh splints), and in the humerus(arm splints). T
