Metabolic Syndrome in Patients with Major Depressive Disorder at Department of Psychiatry, Banpong Hospital - ภาวะ Metabolic Syndrome ในผปวยโรคซมเศราทมารบการรกษาทแผนกจตเวช โรงพยาบาลบานโปง

Objective: To determine the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and associated factors in patients with major depressive disorder at Department of Psychiatry, Banpong Hospital. Method: 55 patients, diagnosed as major depressive disorder at Department of Psychiatry, Banpong Hospital during July 2015 to February 2016, were assessed by measuring height, body weight, blood pressure and waist circumference. Blood was taken for the measurement of fasting plasma glucose and lipid profile (triglyceride and HDL). Metabolic syndrome was diagnosed by using International Diabetes Federation (IDF) criteria of metabolic syndrome and the prevalence was calculated. Data were analyzed by using percentage, t-test and chi-square test. Results: The prevalence of metabolic syndrome in patients with major depressive disorder at Department of Psychiatry, Banpong Hospital was 56.4%. Age, diabetes mellitus and hypertension were correlated with metabolic syndrome statistical significantly. Conclusion: The metabolic syndrome prevalence is high in patients with major depressive disorder. These finding support the importance of assessing and monitoring metabolic syndrome in patients with major depressive disorder. วตถประสงค: เพอทราบความชกของภาวะ metabolic syndrome และปจจยทเกยวของกบภาวะน ในผปวยโรคซมเศราทมารบการรกษาทแผนกจตเวช โรงพยาบาลบานโปง วธการศกษา: เปนการศกษาเชงพรรณนาภาคตดขวาง ศกษาจากผปวยโรคซมเศราทมารบการรกษาทแผนกจตเวช โรงพยาบาลบานโปง ในชวงระหวางเดอนกรกฎาคม 2558 ถง เดอนกมภาพนธ 2559 จ านวน 55 ราย โดยใชแบบสมภาษณและเกบขอมลโดยการชงนำหนก วดสวนสง วดความดนโลหต วดเสนรอบเอว และเจาะเลอดเพอวดระดบนำตาล (fasting plasma glucose) และไขมนในเลอด (triglyceride และ HDL) ใชการวนจฉยภาวะ metabolic syndrome ตามเกณฑของ International Diabetes Federation (IDF) เปดแฟมประวตเกยวกบประวตโรคทางจตเวชอน ยาทางจตเวชทผปวยไดรบ และประเมนคะแนน MADRS วเคราะหขอมลโดยใชวธคำนวณแจกแจงความถ เปนรอยละ คาเฉลย และทดสอบความสมพนธระหวางปจจยโดยใชสถต t-test, chi-square โดยผลการทดสอบถอวามนยสำคญทางสถต เมอคา p<0.05 ผลการศกษา: พบภาวะ metabolic syndrome ในผปวยโรคซมเศราทมารบการรกษาทแผนกจตเวช โรงพยาบาลบานโปง คดเปนรอยละ 56.4 และพบปจจยทมความสมพนธกบภาวะ metabolic syndrome อยางมนยสำคญทางสถต คอ อาย โรคเบาหวาน และโรคความดนโลหตสง สรป: พบภาวะ metabolic syndrome ในผปวยโรคซมเศราจำนวนมาก จงควรประเมนและตดตามภาวะนในผปวยโรคซมเศรา
