Heat of Hydration of Portland Cements and Binders Containing Supplementary Cementitious Materials

Portland cement composition and the materials determine the effect of supplementary cementitious materials on adiabatic heat of hydration. Fly ash contributed lowest heat of hydration, compared to all supplementary cementitious materials. Similar interactions were found with Portland cements up to twenty four hours due to dilution effect, which continued for fourteen hours and after seventy two hours no significant difference is found between blends having different Portland cement compositions.
