摘要
Insulin resistance is a diminished sensitivity and responsiveness to the action of insulin. Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and neuropathological processes underlying cognitive decline and dementia have insulin resistance as a unifying feature. Thus, individuals with metabolic and cardiovascular risk factors have three- to four-fold greater odds of developing cognitive dysfunction than those with optimal metabolic profiles.1 The hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp is a highly sensitive method which shows high reproducibility in quantifying insulin action.
