Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO) is along the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan catabolism ratelimiting enzyme,have a higher expression in various tumor tissues,leading to its high expression of tumor immune tolerance one of the reasons for the poor prognosis of cancer patients closely. Currently,more consistent view of scholars is that,IDO through three mechanisms involved in the induction of tumor microenvironment immune tolerance.LPS and cytokines and other substances to adjust the expression of IDO,1-methyl-tryptophan as the IDO inhibitors in cancer immunotherapy of patients showed a positive effect,so how IDO involved in tumor immune tolerance further study of specific mechanisms will be an important guiding significance for the future development of therapeutic strategies.
