摘要
Adhesive bonding can be described as the joining technology of the twenty-first century. This way of joining materials is capable of saving time and energy in many places and bonding substrates that can almost only be connected using this method. The strong need for adhesives capable of bonding different materials and withstanding various stresses and environmental influences has led to the development of a wide range of structural and elastic adhesives as well as pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes. The development of synthetic polymer raw materials about 100 years ago was a significant step for the adhesive technology. Compared to traditional bonding techniques, adhesive bonding has the following advantages: no heat load on the substrates, bonding of different material combinations, uniform stress distribution in the components, and high dynamic strength and vibration damping. Depending on the focus of the application, the adhesive systems are specially selected in industry and craft.
