The Development of a Measure of Perceived Communication Openness

Open communication has been shown to be related to job satisfaction, organizationalperformance, and role clarity. Most measures of communication openness have beencriticized as simplistic and imprecise. This paper describes the development of aCommunication Openness Measure (COM) based on a well-defined construct, with excellentreliability and adequate validity.
