Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Surgery (UBE) for Cervical and Thoracic Spine

Conventional surgical treatment for degenerative cervical and thoracic spinal disease has been developed with microscopic decompression. Recently, endoscopic spinal decompression has introduced and developed, which can replace conventional surgical methods. Unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) system has shown good results in the surgical treatment of degenerative spinal lesions. Although many favorable results have been reported for UBE surgery in the lumbar region, the cervical region is challenging and can be technically difficult. This chapter describes the UBE technique step by step to treat cervical and thoracic degenerative lesions and hopes many surgeons practice this technique well.
