Various techniques for vacuum deposition of complex solid electrolytes have been investigated. The structure of the evaporated materials was established by x-ray analysis. Electrical properties of the thin films and bulk materials were compared. Recyclable Ag/RbAg/sub 4/I/sub 5//Au coulometers were produced, wherein all components were vacuum evaporated. Rechargeable Ag/RbAg/sub 4/I/sub 5//Te batteries were produced in the same way. Voltage-time and current-time curves during discharge were quite reproducible.
