A New DOA Estimation Approach for a Broadband Point Source

Based on the structural analogy of the correlation matrixes of array output from a broadband point source and a narrowband distributed source, a new approach is presented which utilizes a DOA estimation approach of a narrowband distributed source to estimate the DOA of a broadband point source. The covariance matching technique to process a broadband point source and some simulations are given. The results of the simulations verify show the analysis is effective.
