A series of classical sandwich composite panels composed of paper honeycomb core and epoxy laminate or paper panel skin were prepared. The effects of cell sizes, thickness of honeycomb core of sandwich panels and skin material of sandwich panels on the frequency response of a distributed mode loudspeaker were investigated by testeing with conventional loudspeakers were studied. The results show that the sensitivity of the sandwich panels increases and the frequency width minifies with increasing the cell size of the honeycomb. The starting response frequency of the sandwich planes heightened and the absorbing sound power at the lower frequency intensified with augmenting honeycomb thickness.A good matching of acoustic impedance between core and shin is required for a stable frequence responses .
