Measures for improving the strength of two-side offset printing paper

Various methods to improve the strength ofoffset printing paper were worked out through practice.The choice of the softwood pulps with good quality andthe fine flaky filler particles without sharp edges andcorners was effective in improving the surface and internal strength of paper. Various chemicals which canimprove paper strength such as water-resistance agent,wet strength agent, dry strength agent, surface-enhancedagent, etc. can also improve paper strength to some degree. Increasing the concentration of surface size caneffectively improve the surface strength of paper andreduce production costs. Changing the usage method ofcationic starch can increase the surface strength of paper.Reasonably controlling the temperature of every dryercan effectively improve paper strength and other physicalindicators. Increasing the dryness of sheet from the wetend can improve paper strength. Improving one pass retention and ensuring the good paper formation also havea great influence on paper strength.
