A series of block polyether aminopolysiloxane(BPEAS) emulsion with pH=5.9 was prepared by mechanical agitation and homogenization.The particle size distribution and structure of the emulsion was characterized by laser particle size distribution analyzer and transmission electron microscopy.Effect of different particle size distribution in the emulsion on performance of the finished fabric was examined and discussed;as well as the suitable range of particle size in the emulsion was identified.The results indicated that,when the emulsion median diameter(D50) distribution located within 32.67~52.48 nm,and the cumulative distribution of particle size within 58.77~98.82 nm in the emulsion is higher than 90%,the emulsion shows good stability.Meanwhile,the whiteness of the finished fabric using such emulsion remains unchanged basically with bending stiffness declined conspicuously,and hydrophilicity enhanced.Such emulsion displays outstanding comprehensive performance.
