V-based hydrogen storage alloys V3TiNi0.56Alx(x=0.1,0.3) made by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) are studied by EDXRF and XRD. Their charge-discharge performances and hydrogen absorption/desorption performances are investigated. The results show that the increase of aluminum content in the alloys can decrease the maximum dischargeability and the amount of hydrogen absorbed, but increase the cycle stability. The desorption plateau pressure of alloys is about 0.5MPa,and the plateau width narrows and the plateau gradient increases with the increase of Al.
