Study on the Thermal Stability of POM/Fe Powder Composites

The thermal stability of POM/Fe powder composite was studied with the help of TG and DTG.Study showed that the addition of Fe powder affected the thermal stability of POM,on the one hand,the beginning temperature of decomposition T5% of the blends reduced by 5 ℃,than that of neat POM,on the other hand,it reduced the mass lose rate of blends in the decomposition process,the addition of thermal stabilizer could increase the beginning temperature of decomposition by 10 ℃ and reduced the MC.This proved the stable system could both increase the decomposition temperature and release the decomposition.The addition of Fe powder and POM in the blends could improve the thermal stability of POM effectively;reduce the beginning temperature of decomposition and the MC in the decomposition process.There were two stages in the decomposition process of blends.
