Tartu Semiotics between Semiotic Modelling and Semiotic Analysis

Abstract With this issue, Chinese Semiotic Studies continues the column on the Tartu Semiotics School. These introductory notes specify some aspects of the current scope and tasks of semiotic research. A brief account of the Tartu Semiotics Summer School 2011 on the topic of semiotic modelling is added.
