STUDIES IN CONGENITAL GENERALIZED LIPODYSTROPHY

ABSTRACT Studies of the plasma immunoreactive human growth hormone (HGH) levels in six patients with congenital generalized lipodystrophy revealed low normal basal values without any rise in plasma HGH following stimulation with insulin-induced hypoglycaemia, arginine or vasopressin. The results are interpreted as indicating either a disturbed regulation of the HGH secretion or the formation of an abnormal growth hormone.
