With the continuous development and expansion of the distribution network, the access of new energy makes the distribution network topology continue to expand, which will eventually cause the distribution network structure to become more complex and bloated, and many topology problems avoided at the beginning of planning are also increasingly apparent. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an optimization scheme of distribution network topology based on common information model (CIM). Firstly, the original CIM data is simplified and reconstructed, and the topology related information is extracted, which greatly reduces the data storage scale, simplifies the operation mode, and provides conditions for the subsequent large-scale application. Secondly, five definitions of typical distribution network topology problems are proposed, and the specific network optimization scheme is proposed to reduce the number of households in power outage. Finally, the actual grid data of a city in southern China is taken as an example to verify the scheme, and the final optimization result is also recognized by the front-line engineers, which shows that the grid optimization scheme proposed in this paper can effectively identify the grid problems existing in the distribution network reliability.
