Small Target Detection in Sea Clutter Based on Time-frequency Distribution

Small target detection in sea clutter belongs to random signal detection in clutter.In this paper,the time-frequency distribution is applied to change from time signals 1-D to time-frequency space 2-D.By abstracting characters of the image,signals and clutter are distinguished.The detection performances of the proposed method are proved effectively based on the data collected by the McMaster IPIX radar at the east coast of Canada.
