It is found that Rhodamine B has strong ECL on the Pt electrode in alkaline solution.In optimized condition,in the range between 1.2×10-7and 1.1×10-6 mol/L,the ECL intensity has linear relationship with the concentration of Rhodamine B,the detection limit(define as S/N=3) is 9.0×10-8 mol/L.The mechanism for the ECL of Rhodamine B has been proposed too.It is known that Rhodamine B can react with some bioactive compounds,so it is possible to detect those compounds through the ECL of Rhodamine B.
