The global push towards sustainability is propelled by concerted efforts among world leaders to reduce GHG emissions and promote green energy in transportation. Electric vehicles (EVs) play a crucial role in this shift, highlighting the need for a robust and dependable EV charging infrastructure. This paper delves into the critical aspect of wire sizing within electrical power systems, encompassing transformers, energy meters, relays, fuses, and other essential components relevant to DC fast charger infrastructure. Specifically, it explores the design considerations for DC fast chargers and addresses scenarios where undersized wires can compromise operational efficiency. The study introduces a comprehensive framework for optimizing wire sizes tailored specifically for DC fast chargers, offering insights that extend to various other wire sizing applications. Emphasizing adherence to optimal parameters is crucial to en-sure safe and efficient operation, in line with industry standards and operational demands.
