Influence of char loaded with Na,Ca and Fe on the reaction of NO char in the presence of SO 2 was investigated by temperature programmed reaction(TPR) and the transient reaction methods. The results show that the effect of SO 2 on the reaction of NO char changes with the temperature. At low temperatures SO 2 can be chemisorbed on the char surface, inhibitting the reduction of NO, while at high temperatures the NO conversion is improved by the reaction of SO 2 NO. The reaction between NO and catalyst loaded char is inhibitted in the presence of SO 2, which is related to temperature.The activities of Na ,Ca and Fe on the NO char reaction are different in the presence of SO 2. The Fe has the highest activity among the three catalysts, while SO 2 shows the maximum inhibition on Na activity.
