Isolation and Identification of Chemical Constituents from Artemisia capillaris

OBJECTIVE:To isolate and identify the chemical component of the extracts of Artemisia capillaries.METHODS:The chemical constituents were isolated by various isolation methods (silica gel,ODS and HPLC column chromatography) and their structures were elucidated by the analysis of spectral data (NMR and MS).RESULTS:Eight compounds were obtained and elucidated as following:7-hydroxy-coumarin(1),5,7-dimethoxy-coumarin(2),7-hydroxy-8-methoxy-coumarin(3),7-hydroxy-8-methoxy-coumarin(4),quercetin (5),kaempferol (6),isorhamnetin-3-O-β-D-galactopyranoside (7),caffeic acid (8).The compounds 1-4,7 were isolated from A.capillaries for the first time.CONCLUSION:The study can provide reference for further development and application of A.capillaries.
