This chapter has considered several ceramic composites with their fabrication method to evaluate flexoelectric properties. In this direction, compositionally varied composites such as multiferroic-based bilayer and multilayer, 0–3 type flexure composites, Ba0.67Sr0.33TiO3 composites, and Bi-based (bismuth-based) composites have been studied. Flexoelectric composites have various advantages, such as (1) altering the flexoelectric composite size can increase the response, (2) flexoelectric composites have high polarization and are impossible to depolarize compared to the traditional piezoelectric material and can be used above Curie temperature, and (3) the lead-free flexoelectric composite has a higher flexoelectric coefficient than the lead-based composite. Flexoelectric composites can be used for various applications such as sensors, actuators, and energy harvesting.
