摘要
This study analyzed both qualitative and quantitative data to explore the influence of the integration of mindset theories into academic writing courses on 39 undergraduate and six graduate students' academic writing in a university in Taiwan. The study arrived at the following major findings. Firstly, with the integration of mindset theories and academic writing instruction, participants had a growth mindset, knowledge in academic writing in terms of structure and research method, and skills in writing a literature review. Secondly, the instructor's modeling and feedback were considered effective facilitators for novice researchers. Based on the findings of this study, suggestions were provided to integrate mindset theories into English as a foreign language (EFL) academic writing instruction in classroom settings.
