Discussion on reducing the discharging of red mud and its application

Based on over ten years of exploration and pactices in alumina refinery,the author summarizes and puts forward several approaches for reducing the discharging of red mud in alumina refinery.The aspects the author thought out are reducing the discharging of red mud by utilizing red mud from Bayer process in Sintering process,de-sanding by dilute solution cyclone classification,de-sanding by thickener underflow dilute solution classification,de-sanding from red mud by magnetic separation,gibbsite washing test,two sections of digestion process and adding lime into red mud in Bayer process to get rid of soda.
