Ring Opening of Naphthenic Hydrocarbons on Zeolite Catalysts

The catalytic activity of zeolite catalysts containing supported metal nanoparticles is estimated in the ring opening reactions of model cyclic compounds. It is found that the best results (up to 58% selectivity in the opening of methylcyclopentane rings and a 23.4% yield of n-hexane) are achieved on 1% Pt/NaX catalyst.
