RIM Polyurethane Elastomer Based IPDI

The RIM-PU elastomer which can be cured quickly was prepared with isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI)as isocyanate component,polyether polyol,chain extender and self-made catalyst as polyol component by reaction injection moulding.The major influence factors on mechanical property and technology were investigated.The results showed that the products which had good mechanical properties and excellent processing properties were gained using polyether polyol with a molecular weight as 4 500,EG as chain extender,delayed amine as catalyst and controlling the average functionality of isocyanate component with 2.05~2.10 and the isocyanate index with 95~100.
