The Awakening and Presentation of Female Consciousness in Female Artworks from the Perspective of Caring Ethics

Physical and psychological differences between women and men are evident, and these distinctions also manifest in the realm of the arts. Despite notable advancements in feminist art history and criticism, there remains a pressing need to explore how female artists articulate their experiences, emotions, and ethical concerns through their artwork. This study specifically focuses on how female artists construct and communicate mutual assistance and caring relationships among women through their creations, as well as how they challenge and reshape gender roles within society. Using a qualitative approach, the research employs semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis were conducted. Furthermore, this study incorporated selected artworks by the interviewed artists to enhance the researchers' comprehension of the interviewees' narratives. This study elucidates the potential of care ethics in female consciousness and suggests that care ethics can address the challenges faced by female artists during the creative process, thereby offering new avenues for future research on female art.
