Kaposi varicelliform eruption

A 53-year-old man with chronic lower leg oedema developed a 3-day history of itchy monomorphic vesiculopustules. Biopsy and immunohistochemistry confirmed herpes simplex virus, establishing a diagnosis of Kaposi varicelliform eruption (KVE). Although classically linked to atopic dermatitis, KVE can arise in other conditions with skin barrier disruption, highlighting the need for early recognition and antiviral therapy.
